Women's Golf Places Second at MIAA Jamboree

The Hope College women's golf team finished second at the second MIAA Jamboree on Saturday played at Knollwood Country Club in Granger, Indiana. The Flying Dutch posted a team total of 351. Host Saint Mary's College won the event with a 324.

The Flying Dutch also stands in second in the overall league standings with a 683. Saint Mary's leads the MIAA with a 650. 

Sophomore Jordyn Rioux of Farmington (Livonia Ladywood HS) led the Flying Dutch with a round of 86. Following one stroke behind was both sophomore Abigail Meder of Lansing (Lansing Catholic Central) and freshman Megan Jenkinson of Traverse City (TC West) who each shot 87s.

Freshman Megan Radaz of Alma (Alma HS) finished with a 92 while senior Ariana Stewart of Kalamazoo (Comstock HS) shot a 94.

"That course played hard today, every hole was a grind, but I was proud of the way we fought," said head coach Greg Stafford.

Hope hosts the next MIAA Jamboree on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at The Ravines in Saugatuck, Michigan. Tee time is 1:00 p.m.
