Women's Golf Finishes Second at Fourth MIAA Jamboree

The Hope College women's golf team remains solidly in second place in MIAA standings after another runner-up finish in league play. The Flying Dutch fought off Calvin College and Albion College on Saturday at Kalamazoo's Milham Park by a stroke and two strokes, respectively. Hope finished with a 341, the Knights carded a 342, and the Britons tallied a 343.

This is Hope's fourth consecutive second-place finish in a MIAA jamboree.

Saint Mary's College increased their first-place league standing by shooting a 306. With four MIAA jamborees in the books and heading into the MIAA Championships next weekend at Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek, the Belles top the MIAA with 1249. Hope is second with 1347, followed by Calvin in third with 1393, and Albion College in fourth with 1397.

Sophomores Abigail Meder of Lansing (Lansing Catholic Central) and Jordyn Rioux of Farmington (Livonia Ladywood) paced with the Flying Dutch by posting scores of 82 and 83, respectively.

Megan Jenkinson, a freshman from Traverse City (TC West), came in with an 87, followed by senior Ariana Stewart of Kalamazoo (Comstock) with an 89 and freshman Deanna DeLeeuw of Hudsonville (Hudsonville HS) with a 91. 

The Flying Dutch also received rounds of 85 by freshmen Megan Radaz of Alma (Alma HS) and 91 from Lexi Miller of Bremen, Indiana (Bremen HS).
