Why did you choose to attend Hope College? I liked the small college atmosphere and research opportunities, as well as the social aspect of participating in the cross country team and having a group of people who love to run like I do!

List a favorite Bible verse and why it is meaningful to you: I don't have a specific verse, but I have always taken comfort in the lyrics of the hymn "It is well with my soul." The man who wrote the lyrics went through immense pain and still found comfort in God, and I know that no matter what trials I may be facing, God will carry me through.

What is your favorite pre-game music? Anything that gets me pumped!

If you could play another sport, regardless of skill, what would it be? Some sort of equestrian sport! I love horses and wanted to compete with my Aunt's horses when I was younger, but did not have the time or ability to do so without owning the horse I rode.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received? "Every step counts." In running, all the little steps add up to a long, hard race and giving a bit more in each step can make a huge difference in the end. Similarly in life, each day and all small decisions are steps that can contribute to major goals and accomplishments.
